The Detroit Autonomous Vehicle Group, or DAVG for short, is an open community built around the development of miniaturized self-driving cars. Drawing from his struggles in middle school after moving to the United States, DAVG founder Alex Polonsky has modeled the group into a safe space where tech enthusiasts can share ideas and learn from one another.
On this episode of AutoVision News Radio, Alex shares his rebellious early years as his family sought to leave the USSR and how scary it can be to land in a new place where nothing is familiar and you cannot speak the language. Alex also shares why young and aspiring engineers should get their hands dirty and work on projects and why it's important to foster a community of innovation and inclusion.
